Are Changes Coming? A Panel Discussion on the Wisconsin Constitution Presented by the Milwaukee Bar Association in partnership with the Federalist Society and the American Constitution Society

The Wisconsin Constitution is at the center of so many controversial issues currently working their way through Wisconsin’s judicial system. Abortion, school choice, redistricting, voting rights, religious liberty, separation of powers—these are just a few examples of the types of state constitutional claims Wisconsin judges are now deliberating. What does the Wisconsin Constitution have to say about these issues? What considerations will be front of mind for the jurists who decide them? How will these decisions impact other areas of Wisconsin law? This panel, featuring legal minds from across the political spectrum, offers a high-level exploration of these weighty questions in a discussion led by the Dean of the Marquette University School of Law, Joseph D. Kearney.

Panelists include:

Steven Biskupic of the law firm Biskupic & Jacobs, S.C.
Rebecca Furdek of the law firm Husch Blackwell LLP
Bryna Godar of the University of Wisconsin Law School

Jeffrey Mandell of the law firm Stafford Rosenbaum LLP
Sopen Shah of the law firm Perkins Coie LLP
Lucas Vebber of the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty
