Earn two (2) CLE hours when you join us for a primer from counsel on Intellectual Property in Bankruptcy, plus a view from the federal bench from U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Hanan.

Patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and copyrights are assets with significant value.  Yet due to the specialized nature of Intellectual Property law and the difficulty in assessing value, these assets often are overlooked.  Their value needs to be identified and protected in (and before) bankruptcy.

This session is timely because evaporating COVID stimulus money, a tight labor market, supply chain woes, the war in the Ukraine, and a possible recession may force more companies and individuals into bankruptcy.  In fact, Revlon, Regal Cinemas, AIG Financial Products, and crypto companies like FTX Trading, BlockFi, Three Arrows, Voyager Digital, and Celsius Network and even the Boy Scouts have made the news recently by filing bankruptcy.  Bed Bath & Beyond, which closed 150 stores last year, is weighing its options.

This program will help you evaluate difficult Bankruptcy and IP issues, identify possible new sources of cash for clients, protect their value, and advocate more successfully.
