Copyright and Trademark Law in Canada and the US: A Comparison
(Approved for 1.0 CLE credit)

Presenters:
Len Glickman and Stephen Henderson, Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP (Toronto)

This panel will review the key similarities and differences between the copyright and trademark law regimes in Canada and the United States. Specific issues to be addressed will include term of protection, moral rights, fair dealing v. fair use, statutory damages, disparaging v. scandalous/obscene/immoral trademarks and non-traditional trademarks. A must see panel for lawyers who have clients doing business on both sides of the border. Our esteemed speakers from the Cassels law firm in Canada will do their best not to gloat about the Raptors’ ouster of the Bucks in last year’s NBA Playoffs.
