This interacti ve workshop will explore the implications of technology in Domestic Violenc e and Family Court cases. Professionals will learn how batterers use phone technology, social networking and GPS to circumvent injunctions for protect ion, supervised visitation, and child custody. Legal and Mental Health Prac titioners will explore how victims of domestic violence can overcome commun ication issues using mobile and online communication tools, such as the Our FamilyWizard website, designed specifically for high conflict parents.
< p>With an extensive law enforcement career focusing on investigating crimes against persons, specializing in sex crimes, child abuse, domestic violenc e, and crimes against the elderly, Steven Bradley was recr uited by the FBI to start a taskforce that would investigate technology and cyber related crimes. After returning from the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA , he began combating many types of technology crimes including child pornog raphy, cyberstalking, financial exploitation, and apprehending child predat ors. Later in his career, Steve began working with State Coalitions, and lo cal domestic violence/sexual assault centers on bridging the gaps between l aw enforcement and community partners to better support survivors and victi ms. It was there, that Steven led many group discussions and trainings on p roper investigative techniques and working together for offender accountabi lity. Now as part of the Our Family Wizard professional team, Steven furthe r promotes the empowerment and healthy communication between separated and divorced parents via technology. Steven is nationally recognized as an expe rt on law enforcement’s response to intimate partner violence, abuse of the elderly, and stalking/cyberstalking.
