Redeveloping Brownfields: How to Help Your Clients Build, Look Good Doing, and Leverage Available Financial Incentives and Liability Protections

Presenter:  Logan Glasenapp, Attorney, von Briesen & Roper, s.c.

Brownfields are an eye-sore for any community, but they can be turned into hubs of commercial activity and growth. Often avoided by developers, business, and municipalities, these sites can be acquired rather cheaply, cleaned up under available programs that limit liability and provide financial support, and put back into economic use if parties are willing to think creatively and act flexibly. This program will walk through the process—including best practices for acquisition, statutory liability protections, financing, and redevelopment—and assuage any fears to best equip you to advise clients in the commercial real estate space.
