Part I: Probate Basics...and (a little bit) Beyond! Presenter: Join us for an engaging presentation designed to refresh your knowledge of Probate fundamentals while exploring a few advanced practice points. The discussion will cover key Wisconsin Probate statutes every practitioner should know, along with practical insights like evaluating assets pre-petition, heirship issues, and common Probate pitfalls and how to avoid them. Rounding out the session, Attorney Eckley will share practical tips to better assist your clients throughout the Probate process, from initial filing to final distribution. Whether you are new to Probate practice or looking to fine-tune your approach, this session offers valuable guidance and real-world perspective. Part II: Use of Special Administrations by PI/Wrongful Death Attorneys and Other Litigators This presentation will discuss how to use a Special Administration in the context of a personal injury, wrongful death, or other type of litigation. Topics will minimally include the limitations of a Special Administration, bond requirement (if any), whether waivers can be utilized, how to proceed if a recovery is accomplished, and how to close a Special Administration. In addition, this presentation may be useful to an individual acting as a GAL in these matters because it will highlight issues that may be resolvable before a hearing. Part III: From the Bench Date: Friday, December 5, 2025 REGISTER (In Person) |
