The enforceability of non-compete agreements have caused many disputes between former employees and their employers. Now the Federal Trade Commission has jumped into the fight with a proposed rule. Will the FTC deliver a knockout punch, or is this just round 1? Come learn about the proposed rule, its underlying policy motivations, the timeline for the rule, what tools may remain for employers, and what the proposed rule’s fate may be. Just in case the rollout of the rule is delayed for some reason, some recent case law will also be discussed.
