Elder Law:  Understanding, Engaging, and Participating in the Legislative Process

Presenter: Cale Battles, Government Relations Coordinator, State Bar of Wisconsin

The legislative process is often criticized and can be misunderstood. Are conflict and politics being played out in state government? Yes. Can the rhetoric and hyperbole frustrate those who work and watch the process? Yes. Yet there are also times when the system works and shows signs of bipartisanship. There is much uncertainty about the composition of the new legislature (after the November election) and where their agenda might head in the future especially with Elder Law issues. The State Bar’s Senior Government Relations Coordinator, Cale Battles will discuss the legislative process, past and future elder law issues to watch and answer all of your legislative questions.
