Navigating A New Era In College Athletics - Name, Image and Likeness

With the passing of NIL legislation, the collegiate sports landscape has undergone a rapid and tumultuous transformation, as thousands of companies enter uncharted territory in the hopes of leveraging the popularity of student-athletes to help elevate their own brands and reach new customers. And while some will be successful, many more will invest tremendous resources only to be left with little return because of poor strategy, execution, and a fundamental lack of understanding on how to effectively maximize a complicated marketplace. This CLE program will focus on understanding the fundamental differences in state, institutional and NCAA laws and regulations as they relate to NIL, as well as best practices for attorneys working to help institutional, brand and student-athlete clients navigate the space.

Jason Belzer, Esq.
Jason Belzer is co-founder and CEO of Student Athlete NIL (SANIL), an the only agency of record dedicated solely to helping brands, universities and student-athletes navigate the new era of Name, Image and Likeness.

Belzer is also founder and President of GAME, Inc., an agency that specializes in the career management and marketing of coaches, and co-founder of AthleticDirectorU, a transformative digital media and professional development platform for college athletic administrators and coaches. ADU is the No. 1 read original content publication in the industry, and in 2020 launched the Collegiate Coaching Diversity Pledge, an industry wide commitment by Division I athletic directors to ensure diverse candidate pools when hiring head coaches.

A former walk-on student-athlete, Belzer graduated from Rutgers University, earning degrees in Sport Management and Political Science. He went on to receive his MBA from the University of Illinois and a JD from Rutgers University School of Law and is a licensed attorney in New York and New Jersey. Jason has taught Organizational Strategy and Organizational Behavior at his Alma mater for more than a decade.

Morgan Frazier, Esq.
Morgan Frazier is the Assistant General Counsel and Chief of Staff at Student Athlete NIL (SANIL). Morgan graduated magna cum laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications – Broadcasting. During her time at Florida, Morgan was a member of the women’s gymnastics team and was a part of three NCAA National Championship and two SEC Championship winning teams . She was voted the President of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee her senior year, was the recipient of the Florida Governor’s Sports Award, and was a three-time Academic All-American. Morgan received a Juris Doctorate with honors from the George Washington University Law School and is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia.
